What is ONE FEAR?
"Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire."
~ Hebrews 12:28-29
ONE FEAR is more than a momentary vision, it's a model of the walk we are called to have with our God! When we have ONE FEAR, a holy fear that is pointed upward, then all other fears minimize. ONE FEAR let's us remember that we follow a God who has power in the midst of chaos, control in the midst of disaster, grace and mercy when it should have been judgement, and care for His creation enough to send His Son, Jesus Christ, to take a punishment He did not deserve.
ONE FEAR to destroy the rest!
ONE FEAR to be comforted by our Mighty Fortress!
ONE FEAR that will have a inward work in the heart of man!
ONE FEAR that will have an upward work towards the Kingdom of Heaven!
ONE FEAR and one alone so that Just One More may be Transformed by Jesus!

ONE FEAR
Joshua 4:24 states:
"He did this so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the Lord is powerful and so that you might always fear the Lord your God."
This verse highlights how God's mighty works—like parting the Jordan River—demonstrate His power, leading people to fear Him with awe and reverence. It shows how fear and faith are not opposites but are meant to unite as ONE FEAR of God.

How Fear Meets Faith to Become ONE FEAR
When fear meets faith, it does not disappear—it transforms into ONE FEAR of God. This kind of fear is not crippling but empowering, leading us into a faith that trusts God's power over every challenge we face.
- Fear Begins in Awe of God’s Power – When the Israelites saw God stop the Jordan River, their natural fear of the unknown transformed into reverence for His authority. True ONE FEAR starts with recognizing His supremacy over all things.
- Faith Grows Through Experience – As they walked on dry ground, their fear of danger was replaced by trust in God’s faithfulness. This shift is the inward transformation where fear meets faith.
- Fear and Faith Align in ONE FEAR – The result is not fear of circumstances but ONE FEAR—a deep, unwavering awe of God that overrides all other fears. When we truly fear the Lord, faith takes root, making every other fear irrelevant.
- A Call to Obedience and Testimony – Joshua 4:24 reminds us that God’s works are meant to be seen and remembered, so His people will always fear Him and live by faith. This ONE FEAR drives us to trust and obey rather than be controlled by earthly fears.

ONE FEAR - An Inward Work

Joshua 5:6 states:
"The Israelites had moved about in the wilderness forty years until all the men who were of military age when they left Egypt had died, since they had not obeyed the Lord. For the Lord had sworn to them that they would not see the land He had solemnly promised their ancestors to give us, a land flowing with milk and honey."
This verse highlights the consequence of disobedience and the necessity of trusting fully in God. The concept of ONE FEAR—a singular, reverent fear of God—works inwardly by refining our hearts, shifting our focus from worldly anxieties to complete dependence on Him.

When we truly fear God above all else, it:
Ultimately, having ONE FEAR of God allows Him to work within us, replacing hesitation with faith, rebellion with surrender, and doubt with the certainty of His promises—just as He intended for Israel before leading them into the land of abundance.
- Purifies Our Hearts – Just as the Israelites had to undergo a period of wilderness wandering until a new, obedient generation arose, our inward transformation requires shedding disobedience, doubt, and self-reliance.
- Builds Unwavering Trust – The Israelites who failed to enter the Promised Land feared their circumstances more than they revered God. Having ONE FEAR aligns our trust in His provision rather than in our own strength.
- Encourages Obedience – The inward work of ONE FEAR compels us to live in obedience, not out of dread, but out of love and awe, ensuring we do not miss the blessings He has prepared for us.
- Refocuses Our Perspective – With our fears properly aligned, trials and difficulties become opportunities for growth rather than obstacles to be feared.

Joshua 6:25 states:
"But Joshua spared Rahab the prostitute, with her family and all who belonged to her, because she hid the men Joshua had sent as spies to Jericho—and she lives among the Israelites to this day."
This verse highlights how Rahab’s faith in God led to her salvation and integration into God’s people. It illustrates how ONE FEAR of God doesn’t just work within us but also creates an outward impact, influencing those around us.

How ONE FEAR of God Causes an Outward Work
When we live with ONE FEAR of God, it creates an outward work that influences others through our testimony, actions, and obedience. Just as Rahab’s faith and Joshua’s leadership led to salvation beyond themselves, our ONE FEAR should shine outward, drawing people to God’s grace and transforming lives.
- Transforms How We Treat Others – Joshua’s obedience to God led him to extend grace and protection to Rahab, showing that ONE FEAR moves us to act with God’s mercy and justice toward others.
- Testifies of God’s Power to Others – Rahab’s faith was sparked because she heard of God's mighty works (Joshua 2:9-11). When we walk in ONE FEAR, our lives become a testimony that draws others to trust in Him.
- Brings Salvation Beyond Ourselves – Rahab’s entire family was saved because of her faith and Israel’s obedience. ONE FEAR of God leads us to actions that have ripple effects, bringing others into God’s promises.
- Establishes a Legacy of Faith – Rahab’s story didn’t end at Jericho; she became part of Israel and is even mentioned in the genealogy of Jesus (Matthew 1:5). Our ONE FEAR of God impacts future generations when we live in obedience.

Joshua 5:14 states:
"Neither," he replied, "but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come." Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence and asked him, "What message does my Lord have for his servant?"
This verse reveals Joshua’s encounter with the commander of the Lord’s army, a divine figure (often believed to be a pre-incarnate Christ). Joshua’s immediate response—falling in reverence—demonstrates how ONE FEAR of God causes an upward work in us, drawing our focus entirely to Him.

How ONE FEAR of God Causes an Upward Work
ONE FEAR of God creates an upward transformation in us, shifting our hearts to worship, aligning us with His authority, making us teachable, and elevating our perspective beyond the earthly. Just as Joshua bowed in reverence, true ONE FEAR leads us to surrender fully to God’s presence and plan.
- Leads to Worship – Like Joshua, when we recognize God’s presence and authority, our natural response is reverence and surrender. ONE FEAR shifts our worship from earthly concerns to a full-hearted devotion to God.
- Aligns Us with God’s Authority – Joshua assumed he was leading Israel into battle, but the commander’s response corrected him: God is in charge. ONE FEAR teaches us that we do not lead; we follow His divine will.
- Positions Us for Divine Instruction – After recognizing God’s presence, Joshua immediately asks, “What message does my Lord have for his servant?” This humility shows that ONE FEAR makes us receptive to God’s guidance.
- Lifts Our Perspective from Earthly to Heavenly – Rather than being consumed by battles, challenges, or fears, ONE FEAR directs our focus upward, where God reigns in sovereignty. This lifts our mindset from temporary struggles to eternal purpose.

ONE FEAR -A Secret Sin
Joshua 7:25 states:
"Joshua said, ‘Why have you brought this trouble on us? The Lord will bring trouble on you today.’ Then all Israel stoned him, and after they had stoned the rest, they burned them."
This verse refers to the judgment of Achan, who secretly took forbidden items from Jericho, bringing sin and defeat upon Israel. His hidden disobedience was exposed, and severe consequences followed. This passage illustrates how ONE FEAR of God calls us to turn to Him in obedience and away from secret sins before they lead to destruction.

How ONE FEAR of God Turns Us Away from Secret Sin
ONE FEAR of God causes us to turn to Him and away from secret sins by reminding us that He sees all, sin has consequences, and repentance brings restoration. Instead of living in hidden disobedience like Achan, ONE FEAR leads us to open, honest, and holy living before God.
- Reveals That Nothing Is Hidden from God – Achan thought he could hide his sin, but God sees everything. ONE FEAR reminds us that we live before an all-knowing God, leading us to honesty and repentance.
- Teaches That Sin Has Consequences – Achan’s sin didn’t just affect him—it brought defeat to Israel. ONE FEAR makes us aware that hidden sins impact our relationship with God and those around us.
- Calls Us to Repent Before Judgment Comes – If Achan had confessed instead of hiding his sin, the outcome might have been different. ONE FEAR drives us to repentance, leading us back to God before sin destroys us.
- Leads to Holiness and Purity – The removal of Achan’s sin restored Israel’s standing with God. When we walk in ONE FEAR, we forsake sin and pursue a life that honors Him.
